Greetings!

This web site is dedicated to the principle that diversity and freedom of choice are good things in general and are absolutely essential when it comes to academic computing.

Open Source software presents enormous opportunities to enhance teaching and learning and save taxpayer dollars but these resources have been largely untapped on our campus. We're here to spread the word to the University of South Carolina - Aiken community about the many benefits of Open Source software. More about our mission.

But Open Source is about more than just great software. We're interested in exploring the ethical and civic aspects of the Open Source movement as it impacts society and culture way beyond the area of software development.

[This] is about government sovereignty and history and keeping it available to citizens".
